Old Railway Embankment

A plant in the Borage family here found in a typical location, well drained, dry embankments.

A native to the northern hemisphere this could just be a garden escape.
Local Nature Reserve
The local nature reserves (LNR’s) are a network of designated sites defined by our local authorities.

Yellow Rattle is a hemi-parasitic plant that gets some of it’s nutrients from the plants around it. Put some in your lawn to keep the grass from growing too much. It’ll allow other plants a chance to grow and start a meadow.

As it’s name says it is early in the year and really very welcome to see.

I did get pictures of the wee beastie as it came to get it’s prey. It was too fast to get a clear picture. So the beauty of the web will have to do.
