For thirty years I have had a wildlife garden. Recent neglect had put it into less diverse and later successional state that I would like. However for the last 25 years I have had hedghogs breeding here. I rarely see them due to the undergrowth but see their dropings on the path and occaisionally meet them on my way to the car too.

This year I had the oportunity to record them, they made quite a racket for a number of nights. So if you’ve never heard this hedgehog behaviour you might now know why they are called hedge pigs.

So press play and listen to a bit of garden wildlife sadly dissapearing year by year.
